Graduation Requirements (acs_graduation_reqs_mar06.pdf)
Twenty-five (25) Carnegie units are required for graduation from high school. Minimum requirements in academic areas are:

English 4 units, Mathematics 3 units, Social Studies 4 units, Science 3 units, Foreign Language 3 units.

Physical Education 2 units, Classroom Without Walls 1 unit, and Fine Arts 1/2 unit.

Community Service Requirements
Community Service Projects, developed in cooperation with the community, strive to help ACS students achieve their maximum potential as responsible and ethical citizens. This is achieved through modeling and promoting a character that includes compassion, integrity, respect, tolerance, and service. A wide variety of projects is available to students, such as neonatal care, orphanage and elderly homes visits, building houses with Habitat for Humanity, and recycling of paper and cardboard. High school students are encouraged to develop their own CSP under the guidance of our service coordinator.

Classroom Without Walls
Classroom Without Walls (CWW) is an experiential learning program intended to give students the opportunity to accomplish authentic tasks which call for application of concepts and skills acquired in the classroom. Week-long CWW trips take students to locations around Bolivia which are of cultural, political, and geographical interest at each grade level. Activities have an academic focus with team building and leadership components. A locally-based learning experience is available for students unable to travel. It is our goal to provide a curriculum that is both rigorous and culturally rich. One-fourth credit is required each year in the high school.

Extracurricular Activities
ACS offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities. Varsity and middle school sports include boys' and girls' soccer, volleyball, basketball, and track. The school also has a cheerleading squad that supports all varsity sports. Non-athletic activities include National Honor Society, Student Council, Model United Nations, band, yearbook, and play production. Students can also choose from various clubs, activities, and intramurals such as outdoor adventure, wall-climbing, mountain biking, photography, gymnastics, swimming, seasonal sports, and dances.

College Entrance
100% of our graduates apply and are admitted to post secondary programs. During the past five years an average of 75% of the graduating seniors have attended U.S. colleges and universities. Others enrolled in Bolivian or third country institutions (Canada, Chile and England primarily).
