The third module that I worked on was Audio Production and this one was the most difficult for me. I didn’t enjoy doing this one since it was too much of a hassle. Also, for this one I was partnered up with Renzo and that also threw me off a little since none of us knew how much we were each supposed to do. That’s one reason why I don’t usually enjoy working with a partner.
The trouble with this module started right from the first day because I was working with applications I had never heard of before, and they all could only function on an older model of the Macintosh. I was used to the most recent and quickest machines but these ones didn’t meet that standard. Fortunately, it was easy enough to use. The real issue that we could never seem to fix was what to make our show about.
On the week the module was due we thought fast and put in some Jimi Hendrix songs, then recorded our voices. It didn’t turn out that great, as you can hear a faint buzzing in the background and the shifting of papers when we were reading our parts. The recording and editing was the worst part for me because the programs wouldn’t take certain formats and we would have to fix everything all over again. That happened at least thirty times during the process of finishing our radio show.
This was my least favorite module, not because I was working with a partner, but mostly because of the effort needed in editing the radio show to the exact time limit and putting smooth transitions. I did learn more about the world of computers and radio shows, though, which is what was most important.
