Welcome to the audio production page!
The audio production module allows students to make their own recordings in a radio show format. This module requires the students to interview celebrities, and make radio ads. For this project, I partnered up with Sean Woolgar, as making a radio show would be easy considering that we both have the same taste in music. Using SoundEdit, we made the "Death Metal Nation" radio program, as a tribute to the greatest band ever to grace earth: Dethklok! Our radio show consisted of a full-length interview we "conducted" with the band members, and a commercial they did for the Duncan Hills Coffee Company. This project was the most difficult in my opinion, as recording each band members voice and looking for phrases they could say to serve as answers for our interview questions proved to be challenging. The recording process was also difficult, as getting the exact sound level we wanted from each band member to match our voice level was nothing short of difficult and time consuming. In the end, Sean and I ended up with a pretty good radio program though, and everything went as planned. This project helped me understand how hard it is to record things just right, and the value of a good microphone! Other than that, the module also helped me understand how to manipulate audio, and as a musician, this is a skill that I look forward to improving in the near future. |
