General Secondary School Profile (Grades 6 - 12)
The main focus of the ACS secondary school is to prepare students for the best universities and colleges in the United States, and secondarily in outstanding schools in South America and Europe. With that in mind, our curriculum in grades 6-12 is similar to what you will find in many schools in the US. The middle school program (grades 6-8), which has a middle school dedicated staff, is departmentalized with individual subjects taught by different teachers. The high school (grades 9-12) supplements its course offerings with Advanced Placement courses in Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, English, History, Physics, and Spanish. Our class sizes are in the 15-20 range with about 40 students per grade level.
Along with a rigorous academic program, students are encouraged to participate in our numerous extracurricular activities. ACS offers a wide range of sports and clubs for students to choose. Varsity sports include soccer, volleyball, basketball and track. Clubs and activities range from band and drama to rock climbing, mountain biking, and outdoor adventure. We strive to challenge both mind and body.
