Our Experiment is about the effect of height on speed. The examples which we are testing will all be members from the ACS Track Team. The people tested were from grades 8-12, meaning from about 14-18 years, if age. We tested them by timing their time trials of 200 meters, a lap around the Cougar Field. They ran various trials, a total of six. The shortest person tested was Noelle Etenne, with 147.3 centimeters, from 10th grade, and the tallest was Matias Costa, also from 10th grade, with 184.3 cm. The Fastest runner for the 200 meter time trials was Taki Brown, from 12th grade, and the one who came out with the most time was Catalina Bonifaz, from 8th grade. In total we had 31 students tested. Seniors (1), Juniors (7), Sophmores (10), Freshmen (6), and Eighth graders (7). Most of the students tested were between the ages of 15-16, and the average height was 161.3. Most of the people tested were between the heights of 160-170 cm.With very little source of error we can say that out experiment was a sucess! Please take a look at out Research, Source of Error, Conclusion, Results, and Expirimental Design links. We hope you enjoy learning about this experiment as much as we did! -Natalia and Emilia We would like to
thank Mrs. Kurten for all of her support, the ACS Track Team and
especially, Mr. Mark Warder for all of his help and cooperation in our
experiment and throughout the year.
We will miss you next year! |
