| Now, Connecticut it’s famous for
its rural beauty, but behind those hills and creeks there are the gears
that move the economy of that place. Connecticut derives most of its
wealth from industry. Decades ago Most of the industries were
silverware, sewing machines and clocks. Those days are long gone.
Nowadays industries produce jet engines and parts, electronics and
electrical machinery, computer equipment, and helicopters. Nevertheless
most of Connecticut’s manufacturing is for the military. Firearms and
ammunition are being produced here since the days of the revolutionary
war. In fact the production of supplies for war in Connecticut
had been so ample that General George Washington called Connecticut
"The Provision State" Boliva bases its economy in some of the same ways as Connectiucut. But, instead of producing materials for engineering Bolivia's main income is the one of minerals such as silver, lithium and tin. Even greater is the income of natural gas, which is refined and then shipped to the United States, Chile, Argentina and China. Bolivia is the second greatest extractor of natural gas in Latin America, which follows Venezuela. Neverthless there's several differences. Connecticut sustains its economy also in agriculture and cattle, it farms a considerable amount of apples, citrus fruits and tobacco. Bolivia, has the biggest variety of potatoes in the world but there's not enought quatity to export to other contries. In conclusion the main differences are that although both Connecticut and Bolivia have the potential of producing great amounts of different things, connecticut can do it because there's a whole economic sistem behind it to back it up. Boliva its on its own. |
