History

Native Americans gave Connecticut its name. It derives from the Algonquin "Quinatucquet" which means "Besides the long tidal river". Althought natives gave Connecticut its name, native settlements weren't very abundant in Connecticut. There were only two tribes, the Mohegans and the Pequot which had permanent settlements  in Connecticut until  the arrival of the british. This is very different that in Bolivia. Bolivia has the highest number of indigenous, native, people in South America, more than 60% its populations is indigenous. There's more than 120 different tribes and each one speaks its own language.
In Connecticut by 1663 a smallpox  epidemic killed most of its native population. Here in Bolivia, indigenous people have endured severe diseases and excluxion from society for years. As in the outskirts of the cities there's not lots of jobs and the incomes are low. indigenous people have started to migrate to larger cities with hope to find better jobs. This is different to Conneticut's native population because Mohegans and Pequot's never migrated to other regions.
