| The
state of Maryland
is located on the east coast, and it is bordered by Pennsylvania on the
north, Delaware and the Atlantic Ocean on the east, Virginia on the
south, and West Virginia on the west. Annapolis is Maryland’s capital,
even though Baltimore is the largest city. In 1791, Maryland
donated the land for the nation’s capital, Washington D.C. In the
2000 census, Maryland had a population of 5,296,486 people and the 2003
estimate was of 5,508,909 people. The population density of
Maryland is of 542 people per square mile. Maryland ranks 42nd
among the fifty states in size with a total area of 12,297 square
miles. Bolivia is located in South America, and it is bordered by Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Chile. Sucre is Bolivia’s capital, even though the government is in La Paz, one of the largest cities in Bolivia. According to the 2001 census made in Bolivia, this country has a population of 8,274,325 people. The 2005 estimate is of about 9 million habitants. The population density is really low in Bolivia due to the fact that this country has a total area of 424,164 square miles. As you may see by these facts even though Bolivia has about 400,000 more square miles than Maryland, they differ in only about 3.5 million people. In Maryland and Bolivia, their capitals are not the largest cities. Since Maryland ranks 42nd among the fifty states, I think that many other states may have a much larger population than the one Bolivia currently has. Bernardo
