I chose to research the state of Hawaii for various reasons.  First of all there are only two island states in the whole of the USA and Hawaii is the one that has always interested me the most out of all fifty states.  Hawaii is also an archipelago like Alaska but unlike it, Hawaii is a chain of tropical islands, the climate is warm and humid.  In Hawaii the waters are warm and the animal life is abundant although there are over 260 extinct species in Hawaii alone.  Hawaii is home to hundreds of endangered species as well as threatened species.  Tourism in Hawaii is based on the Hawaii’s beaches, landscape, and animal life.  The Hawaiian Islands are made up of volcanic rock and even have active volcanoes on them.  The ocean is known to be great for water sports and to see aquatic animals in their natural habitat.  The state’s history, statehood, and geography, are some of the most intriguing topics of conversation as well as its population, economy, and tourism being widely known.
