The geography of
Michigan is
rather hilly, but mountainous in areas. Along the Upper Peninsula
is a mountain range, and the Lower Peninsula is mainly rolling hills
and plains. Many rivers criss-cross the state, such as the
Detroit River, the Grand River, and the St. Mary’s River.
Michigan, because of its location, is vital for trade between Canada
and the United States. The state flower is the crabapple blossom,
and the state tree is the white pine tree. The state reptile is
the painted turtle, which is endangered. The state bird is the
robin, and the state wildflower is the Dwarf Iris. The state
stone is the Petoskey stone and the state soil is Kalkaska sand, and
the state gem is the chlorastrolite. The state mammal is the
white-tailed deer and the state fish is the brook trout. Bolivia's geography is very different to that of Michigan. For one, Bolivia's gepgraphy is split up into very distinct regions very extreme to one another. Two thirds of Bolivia is covered in jungle, the rest is mountains. |
