| The tourism
in Indiana is very
large. For one thing Indiana calls itself the Crossroads of
America. If people are travelling across the country, most likely
they will have to
cross into Indiana and pass through it to reach their destination. Indiana is home to the one and only Indiana Pacers. Many people, like me, travel to Indiana to watch the basketball games that are held. Also in Indiana is the one and only Santa Claus, Indiana. It's a small, quiet town that has a theme park for visitors. First named in 1946 as Santa Claus Land, it was later turned into "Holiday World" in the 1980's. Inside the park it is divided into four different holidays that include "4th of July", "Halloween", "Thanksgiving" and of course "Christmas". Held every May in Indiana is the Indianapolis 500. It is held at the Motor Speedway where different racers from any part of the state race against each other. They complete 200 laps,at a required speed of 500 miles per hour. Fans love the excitement of their heroes pulling off death defying tricks. This May 29th, 2005 is the 89th Indy 500. |
