The first people that ever
reached this wonderful state are 12,000 years ago. At that time Florida
was filled with plants and animals. Florida’s coastline is very
different 12,000 years ago; the sea level was much lower than it is
today. The people at that time were hunters and gathers. In 1513, Ponce
de Leon (meaning fountain of youth) discovers and named Florida,
claiming that Florida was Spain. Later on Spain sold it to the U.S.A.
in 1819. Spain names Florida first Fort Caroline in 1564 but later on
it became Florida. After this entire amazing discovery there was
another settlement by Alvar Nunes and it happened in 1528. The first
