All the candidates go to inspect the eggs. Everyone is very nervous and hopes to Impress a dragon. There are more candidates than eggs, and all the older candidates think that Keevan won't impress a dragon. Beterli is sure that he will impress the bronze dragon. He prohibits Keevan and the other candidates from getting too close to "his" egg. Beterli says that Keevan is too young to impress a dragon. Before the inspection Keevans mother advises him, and tells him not to be nervous: Dragons choose honest people that have a flexible mind, patience, courage, and goodness in their heart.
