The Florida Marlins are only a
little bit over ten years old. They won the 1997 world series. They had
a very good team that year with mlb superstars including yankees right
fielder Gary Sheffield. The marlins first game they ever played they
lost against the LA Dodgers (1993). The bad news of the 1993 season is
that they finished 64-98 (64 wins 98 loses). In their first world
series they they won it was won in the 12th inning by a game-winning
hit by Edgar Renteria (current shortstop Red Sox) to score the winning
run Craig Counsel. The team they had in 1997 was incredible their
outfielders were Moises Alou, Gary Sheffield and Devon White.
Infielders were Edgar Renteria, Jeff Conine, Luis Castillo, Bobby
Bonilla and Charles Johnson. Some of these players are still All-Sars
today.
