The New York Yankees are the
worlds greatest sports franchise in history. They have won the Baseball
World Series 26 times. More than any other sports franchise have won
championships. The New York Yankees have been in the major leagues for
over a hundred years.The Yankees rivalries are the Boston Red Sox. The
Red Sox were suposely cursed for 86 years. Fortunally (for red sox
fans) "the curse was broken" last world series (2004) when they
eliminated the Yankees. The yankees were losing the series 3-0 hen the
Red Sox beat them and then went on to
sweep the St.Louis Cardinals. The best team the Yankees ever had were
the 1927 Yankees also known as Murder's Row they give them this name
because of their dangerous lineup. They had....batting leadoff Earl
Combs, 2nd Mark Koenig, 3rd Babe Ruth, 4th Lou Gehrig, 5th Bob Meusel,
6th Tony Lazzeri, 7th Joe Dugan, 8th Pat collins and 9th were DH's. Ony
three of these batters batted under 300 (batting average).
