Butterflies live all over the
world. Different butterflies can live in different environments and
climates. Although they live in different environments, butterflies
mostly live in tropical areas like the tropical rain forest. Depending
where the butterfly lives, the butterfly migrates. Butterfly migration
is not well understood. For example is a butterfly lives in La Paz,
Bolivia it will only be here during spring and summer because if it is
here during winter and fall the butterfly will die. Many of the
butterflies that need to migrate migrate short distances, but some like
the Monarch butterflies migrate thousands of miles.
