There are many different parts for the Nervous System but the most important are the nerves.  The nerves are bundles of interconnecting strings that connect to every part of your body to make you react and feel.   Neurons ,  or nerve cells, make up a  nerve with different parts that respond to stimuli.  The main control center for the neuron is the cell body.  It contains  mitochondria,  nissl bodies,  and  the nucleus.  The dendrites are the  parts that  extend  from  the cell body.  They are branch like extentions that come from the word "branchise" which means tree.  The other part of the neuron the extends from the cell body is the axon.  The axon is the main travel path for the neuro message.  Since neurons make up a nerve, the axon is the main travel path for the nerve too.   The part that pertects the axon from invaders is the  mytec sheath.  It also slows down the message so it can go fast enough to go over the synapse.  The synapse is the part of the neuron that lets the message go from ne neuron to another.  And that process continues over and over again until the message reaches its destination.
