In our Egyptian project we presented a lot of information following various topics. The topics presented were the following: Geography, Nile, Trade, Food, Jewellery, Cosmetics, Entertainment, Government, Pharaohs, Pyramids, Sphinx, Art, and Religion.

The geography of Egypt was mostly flat. The Mediterranean Sea, in the south, and the mountains in the north isolated it, and the Sahara dessert isolated the western side of the Egyptian territory. The Nile extends 6695 km. and was what gave Egypt all its life. Trade was done through the Nile which had 6 cataracts and started in Lake Albert and ended in the Mediterranean Sea. Trade was very important. Livestock, greyhounds, ostrich feather, bowls, ginger, fruits, buffalo, jewellery, gems and cows were items the Egyptians traded for in Punt and other cities throughout Africa.
Egyptians ate food like fish, geese, fruit, vegetables, grains and other like bread and bear. All Egyptians wore make-up. People going to important parties, used cones of grease over their heads so they would smell nice. Men used a strip of hair on the side of their head, which they cut off when they reached maturity.

Egyptian clothing was pretty simple. Men used skirts and sandals. Women used long dresses and sandals. Everyone used jewellery. Old men used long dresses. Egyptians had several ways of entertainment. The Senet game represented the good against the evil. Mehen was kind of snake game. Egyptians had a government with social classes. At the top were the pharaohs, then the priests, then scribes and tax collectors, next the artisans and at last the farmers. Egyptians had many pharaohs; a very famous one was Queen Hatshepsut which was the first women to rule over Egypt. She restored several obelisks and built a temple in her honour. She died mysteriously and her body was never found. Another very famous pharaoh was King Tutankhamen which ruled over Egypt very young and also died young. One of the most interesting things about his life was his curse. Lord Carnovern paid Howard Carter to go and look for a mummy. Then Carter found King Tutankhamen. When Lord Carnovern died the lights of the city turned off and the next morning his dog started barking and suddenly dropped dead.

Pyramids were huge tombs were kings were buried. They were made out of several rocks and took various men to pull the rocks to their position. There are 4 kinds of pyramids, which are the Bent pyramid, the block pyramid, the step pyramid and the great pyramid. The Sphinx was another great monument. Archaeologists believe that it was built before the pyramids because it has fungi on the sides. The Sphinx had several rooms which archaeologist said had kings in them. Passages went from the Sphinx to other important places of Egypt.
There were two kinds of palaces: The Montaza and The Raz AI-Teen. The Egyptian’s colors used to paint were Red, Brown and blue. Some of Egypt’s most important gods were Ra and Amon, which were joined to create Amon-Ra. Other gods were Osiris and Anubis, which were in charge of the afterlife.
