Frog Mummification | Parent Comments | Our Comments | Bibliography
On the mummification table you could see our mummified frogs.  In Science class we took out there insides after cutting them open.  We touched the organs with bare hands, it was really gross!  Next we put them in salt for four weeks.  Then they were all dried out.
 
When we took them out of the salt we made them fat with dried good smelling stuff like rosemary and cinnamon.  When their bellies were full we wrapped one layer of gauze around him.   Then we sprinkled liquid perfume on them and wrapped the rest of the way.  We wrapped a lot until he was a white bulk.  Then we put them in waterproof boxes and buried them in two feet deep holes.  I thought it was a really cool thing to do while studying Egypt.
