Frog Mummification • Parent CommentsReflectionsBibliography
The biggest part of mummification is when the embalmers dissected the body of the dead person. We mummified frogs!  When we received our cold dead frog it didn’t look that bad. Once we opened our frog there was a really thin layer of muscles underneath the skin. We did the same procedure as when we cut the skin to open up the muscles. Once that was done what we did was identify each and every organ in the frogs’ body and then throw all of them away except the heart.

Then once the body was empty and the heart was placed back into the chest the frogs were placed into salt for all Christmas vacation until the bodies were fully dried up. For the mummification process what we did was that every body had to bring some type of spice. If not they had to bring a sarcophagus. With all the spices we filled up our frog. We put some oils and wrapped it in gauze.
The burial was done in a religious way. We dug up a hole in the ground and with the frog’s sarcophagus and magic amulets we place the frogs in the hole. While we buried the frogs we sang hymns, poems, and prayers. Once we were done with the burial we placed a land mark on top of the digging site. This experience was so COOL!
